I abandon taking over the world

I remember when I first created a YouTube group called Anime Is Taking Over the World. I wanted to make extension to the group. I tried to stream anime, but it failed miserably. The YouTube group started to build itself quite well. Then I created the blog. Shortly after, the new owner of YouTube, fucking Google, had to kill every groups. And so, came in the desperate attempt to keep the name alive and to make it bigger which results in another failure…

As of today, I’m no longer an active writer for Anime Is Taking Over The World as I’ve been newly added to Team Zero of Bokutachi no Blog. I really need some fresh air and a change of scenery. Is AITOTW still going to be alive? Yeah, but I’m not sure if it’s going to be active. It all depends on the saddened Madmonk now as he is an admin. I have no idea if he’s still going to do anything or go back full-time to Jakesanimeblog. I’d like to thank guest writers, Halfey and Crazymoviefan, for their contribution.

Well, all this means is no more perverted stuff delusion from me.

If I’m writing anything on this blog, it’s mainly going to be pro wrestling, hockey and j-music stuffs which is pretty much off-subject to the blog’s name.

Anyone interested can become a writer on AITOTW in my place. Just leave a comment on “Staff Needed” and I’ll look into it. But rarely anyone actually shows any strong interest.

Anime Summer 2011 First Ep Impressions Part 2

Warning: I’m on drugs which will cause me to do some terribad ratings. 2 ratings are math related.

Kamisama Dolls

Like I said before, Kamisama Dolls is a bi-polar anime where there are rapid shifts between cute and violent. The main flaw about that shift is that the “cute” counterpart is pretty un-cute. We have Utao who happens to another generic little sister and who reunites with her big brother, Kyouhei. The big bro aka the real main character seems to have a dark past with the “seemingly” antagonist, Aki, who happens to be a total psychopath. These 3 characters come from a village with a dark secret that is the “controllable” and robot-looking Gods – The Kakashi. Kyouhei cutting his ties with his village had left his role as a Seki -One who controls these Kakashi- to his not-really-adorable little sister who is a n00b in terms of control skills.

I find Aki, a seki in rampage, to be interesting as he looks as if he’s the real bad guy, but I feel he’s more of a anti-hero or at least a victim as I do not think he fits the description of Pure Evil. It’s not like he killed anyone important yet. No one considers Scar from FMA to be a real antagonist. The village seems to be a greater hidden evil. “The shrine’s orders are absolute.” You can’t expect any good from that.

We do find a bit of yaoi hint with Aki’s obsession to Kyouhei. For some reasons, this summer is a female-bait season, but hey, as long they don’t make out, I’m fine.

Score: 8.e/10

I blame Chiaki Ishikawa for reminding me of The Mysterious Cities of Gold with her song (LOL). Great song though.

Natsume Yuujinchou San

The recipe for Natsume Yuujinchou remains the same and will still be the same. Natsume Yuujinchou is just a slow-paced and relaxing youkai slice-of-life anime. It doesn’t really require anyone to watch the previous seasons completely as the entire show is episodic. Natsume and Nyanko-sensei keep doing whatever they do best: Relax, meet some youkais and react accordingly…Help them or chase them out. The series offers some heart-warming moments with the interaction of Natsume and several youkai. P.S.: I’m starting to believe that Nyanko-sensei was Reiko’s pet in her days, since he just seems to know about her than anyone else which pretty much explains why he is still protecting Natsume even though the Book of Friends is getting weaker and weaker.

RIP Tea Cup Youkai. Your sacrifice will remembered…for about 2 days.

Score: 8.Pi/10

Yuru Yuri

What is Yuru Yuri? My main description of the show would be a half-decent show about 4 middle-school lezbos. We got about 3-4 lesbian jokes which get boring after a while. The only strength of the show seems to be the realistic age-height proportion (lol)…Middle Schoolgirls who look like Middle Schoolgirls. So far, the comedy has been hit-and-miss as there was some glimpse of gold, but we mainly get coal. Is the show worth watching? Yes, unconvincedly, if you just want to waste some FREE time, but we’ve all seen Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh before and Yuru Yuri is not as good as these shows.

Score: 5.lez/10

I really hate the opening song.

Ikoku Meiro No Croisée

Don’t you love a story about a cute little “japonaise” going to france as a “slave worker”? Ok, that was a bit of a bad joke about the “slave” thing, but you get the setting of the anime. Ikoku Meiro No Croisée focuses around cute little girl, Yune, going to France to work for a pre-adult, Claude, in his iron workshop. There might not be any slavery thing, but I can predict a romance building up which could chase away many viewers and gain the love of every pedophiles of this world. I’m still very concerned about that. However, I have I have to admit that the first episode was very well done in its beautiful animation and character design. In addition, we’re not likely to see any senseless fan service. I do find it hilarious that Claude sold Yune’s most prized possession, a kimono that is a memento from her mother which would create a bond between those 2. Who cares about family keepsake when you get to work? :p

Score: 7.loli/10

There’s nothing better than a chillax song.

Sacred Seven

The main character, Tandoji Arma, is a guy with super powers who wants to be left alone and who is feared by 99.9% of all the school students except obviously for one girl. Let’s all thanks Sunrise that she isn’t another big b00bs chicks. Funny enough, she doesn’t seem important (hahaha) even though she is. It’s just me not wanting to know characters name. However, we all know the chick will never get him as she is no match for the leader of a maid army, a Lolita chick who happens to be accompanied with a mecha-piloting butler and a talking backpack (lol). A silly army comes with an even more sillier leader. However, she’s another character who blindly puts her trust to a stranger like Tandoji, but I do agree with her philosophy buying anything for her goals, even an entire school…Heil the abuse of power.

Well, Go Go Power Rangers! I do enjoy being wrong about an anime after saying this is going to be an epic fail for sure. In contrast to Tiger & Bunny that seems to target a western demographic, Sacred Seven is somewhat a more appealing super hero anime for those wanting to escape from the western style without necessarily going away from going away from it. The anime doesn’t excel at originality but does bring back some good memories of super hero series such as Megaman, Casshern, Power rangers and Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad without being a total rip-off. The animation style and fighting scenes that try to make you think it’s epic really are strong points of this anime. Plus, there is an army of maids…what else could you ask more?

Score: 8.Sunrise/10

Awesome opening song.

Summer Anime 2011 First Ep Impressions Part 1

Blood-C

As I expected so far, the first episode did a great job proving that Blood doesn’t blend well with Clamp. In addition, for a show that is supposed to look beautiful, the animation looks mediocre as hell. In Last Vampire, the focus was on bloody gore. In +, it was Saya’s identity search and road to accept her destiny to kill those beast. Both movie and anime had somewhat a form of horror genre. Sadly, Blood-C isn’t that. Not impressively gory, Not really psychological…It’s just senseless action added with lovey-dovey moments that doesn’t transition well. Saya is now an annoyingly clumsy girl who loves her daddy very much to a romantic stand-point. The actions in the first episode are pretty much resumed as “School life, Trips to the ground, Maiden Life, Trips to the ground, Kills monster without question, Goes Home with a smile to daddy.” If we didn’t watch The Last Vampire and +, we wouldn’t know WTF is happening on this show. This is a bit ironic as Clamp is clearly trying to stray away from the Blood series, but they pretty much expects us to see them to understand their stuff. If we go to the fight scene itself, it was okay but I do have a problem at how the creature got killed. Since the chiropteran was a statue (Facepalm), I laughing at how Saya couldn’t cut it with her sword until the beast got into a full transformation. Your final form is useless if you become killable which is a bit retarded. As a blood series, it fails so far. As a Clamp show, it ranks even below than Kobato. Oh Yeah, did I say Saya trips to the ground? Oh Clamp, what have you done? At least, provide us with a good opening song which isn’t the case right here. The episode gets a “marvelous” 5/10.

Ro-Kyu-Bu!

Facepalm: I’ve found even worser than Blood-C. Ro-Kyu-Bu! isn’t only your next K-On! Basket anime. It’s also your next Kodomo no Jikan. Coach got fired for being a lolicon…Male High School Team get suspended…Talented Freshmen player who resents the sport become the temporary coach of the middle school girls team…Girls get into maid outfit…FUCK YOU! I can definitely predict where da fuck is this anime going. The only chick who can play will fall in love with the guy and problems arise. More stupidity will fall upon us and my brain will short-circuit again. I’m still surprise that Basketball was still the focus of 50% of the episode even though it’s just a driveway for more fan services. A 4/10 fits this anime pretty well, but I’m sure this anime scores a 10/10 for pedophiles.

Nurarihyon no Mago: Sennen Makyo

To much of my surprise and delight, Nurarihyon no Mago finally gets back on the good step. A new director and more source material really help to get back up from the shitty first season. For the first episode, they aired the death of Rikuo’s father, Rihan, and the FIRST chapter of the manga (lol). Seriously, how incompetent was that first director to not make the real first episode THE first episode of the anime. Putting that ep first would have shut the critics up who said that Rikuo is a shitty character for not initially wanting to become a Yokai. The anime finally took the path of Shounen Jump instead of being a retarded Mystical anime failingly trying to become a horror. However, it would be wrong to say that the anime will follow the manga closely considering Jaimi and Ryuji are introduced next week in the same ep. Well, as long it’s well done, there’s no problem. For bringing depth into Rikuo, this episode scores a 8/10.

Kami-sama no Memochou

The Memopad of God will lead me to the answers of my Biology test answers. Ok that’s irrelevant. I know bad joke is bad. WTF is Kamisama no Memo-chou? An anime about a detective called Alice. But not any detective, A NEET Detective!!!! But not any NEET Detective, A HIKIKOMORI Detective!!!!!!!!!!! That’s really the only NEET Thing To Do! This is somewhat a very pleasant anime to watch. Call Alice and Narumi a bad duo version of Victorique and Kuujo, but damn, Alice is so fucking cuter than Victorique! While the mystery could have been focalized a bit more, I did enjoy the slice of life element of the show where the main guy is just adapting or being force to adapt to the NEETs he’s being introduced. For the first time (I think), we have an anime where NEETS aren’t actually useless and creepy. NEETS are just officially unemployed or not in education and not necessarily outcast of society. I do find it funny that the playboy dude was actually a NEET. Somewhat, Alice seems to be the only hikikomori who’s actually BOSS! The series seems to be a must-watch this season. I don’t know what’s the strength of Gosick since I haven’t watched it all, but the characters of Kamisama no Memo-chou captivated me better than Gosick’s. Score 8.5/10

Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise

Well, considering I’ve started the first impression of Summer 2011 pretty negatively, why not finish this post the same way too? I’m too lazy, so I’ll do a short bash on this terribad show. The next impression will be more positive. The first moment of Twinkle Paradise made me facepalm so badly as we see bad guys trying to rob vegetables…FUCK THIS SHIT! In addition, the opening song is annoying. What the fuck is this show? An obvious parody of Sailor Moon about 2 girls mahou shoujos with obvious character traits. The red girl is the annoyingly energetic girl. The blue girl is the shy-type girl with big b00bs. The content looks very kiddy, but fan services also target an older audience. I think this anime might be good in the 9th dimension. Anyway, just…Don’t watch this! Score: -10/10 (notice the negative sign).

Nurarihyon no Mago Sennen Makyou Opening by Lm.C

While I do feel that the singing and the tune both seem to be a complete misfit with each other, it does make the anime look a bit shounen than Season 1.

I’m still waiting for someone to sub Nurarihyon no Mago latest episode. FASTER!!

Beelzebub OP3 and ED3: wow it’s still going on lol

With the 3rd Opening and Ending songs, the anime is officially entering its 3rd season much to my surprise. Considering how bad half of the 23 past episodes were, I was thinking that Studio Pierrot just dropped the balls with the series and wanted to end the show. It turned out that they are currently under the false impression that they’re doing greatly. The success to Beelzebub is pretty much credited to the greatness of the manga and not the anime. Maybe I’m being too harsh on the anime. Who knows? I’ve skipped the fillers and I’m started to feel disconnected to the anime. I’m also annoyed at how no one gets a single smooth action motion and at the 70-80’s style of putting a board – saying “Punch”, “Kick”, etc…- everytime Oga attacks. Well, it’s the St-Ishiyama arc which will allow guys like Furuichi and Kanzaki to rightfully shine and not be buried…assuming that Studio Pierrot’s staff isn’t on drug.

BTW, when you think that Beelzebub finally start getting a decent opening, a bad rock song appears. The ending songs are pretty good, even though I don’t like how the videos deform or reform the female characters’ look.

Anime Summer 2011 Preview

Is Summer 2011 as strong as Spring 2011? Many persons on the net said that Summer seemed lackluster. However, even though Spring 2011 was strong, there wasn’t much anime that truly stood out from the bunch. There were several good anime but no amazing or great anime either. While the average anime quality of Summer 2011 seems low, I think there will be a few anime that will stand out more than any anime from Spring.

Perverts will also find enjoyment in this season with so many moe and loli series. Anime Sport fans will definitely be disapointed during this season as the only sport anime is Ro-Kyu-Bu! (lol) which is more likely targetted for pedobears.

Stats:
# of anime in this post: 21
# of action anime: 8
# of loli anime: 9-10

Kamisama Dolls

Synopsis: Kyouhei, after moving away to Tokyo from his old town to get away from the events that happened, is on a goukon with his friends, including his old neighbor, Shiba. After drinking for a whole night, he and Shiba discover a dead, bloody, body in the elevator. He is told by his younger sister, Utao with her Kamisama Doll, that Aki, an old friend, and his Doll, are the culprits responsible.

This anime seems to be a bi-polar anime since, in the 2 sides of the story, you have a very cute part about a little sister meeting her brother in the outside world and a very obscure part about the brother’s dark past that relates to deaths. To mix Moe and Violence, will it work in this anime? Maybe, who knows? I think it’s worth to take a look. Plus: from what I’ve seen of the trailer, the music seems like it’s going to be great.

……………………………………………………………………………………………

Nurarihyon no Mago: Sennen Makyou

Synopsis: As he continues his ascension to the role of the Nura Clan’s leader, Nura Rikuo and his Hyakki Yakou must travel to Kyoto in order to face the Kyoto Youkai Clan’s reborn leader, Hagoromo Gitsune who was the former master of all spirits (I refuse to use the words “The Lord of Pandemonium” since it sounds lame) and the prime suspect of the death of Rikuo’s father, Rihan.

Well, a new director has been appointed to the anime. Hopefully, the second season will not disappoint like that horrible first season. Season 2 pretty much covers the good part of the source material. There is no excuse for shit. I’ve made my points in previous posts already, so there is no need for me to say more. Another bad anime will simply result in the death of the manga.
