Anime Summer 2011 First Ep Impressions Part 2

Warning: I’m on drugs which will cause me to do some terribad ratings. 2 ratings are math related.

Kamisama Dolls

Like I said before, Kamisama Dolls is a bi-polar anime where there are rapid shifts between cute and violent. The main flaw about that shift is that the “cute” counterpart is pretty un-cute. We have Utao who happens to another generic little sister and who reunites with her big brother, Kyouhei. The big bro aka the real main character seems to have a dark past with the “seemingly” antagonist, Aki, who happens to be a total psychopath. These 3 characters come from a village with a dark secret that is the “controllable” and robot-looking Gods – The Kakashi. Kyouhei cutting his ties with his village had left his role as a Seki -One who controls these Kakashi- to his not-really-adorable little sister who is a n00b in terms of control skills.

I find Aki, a seki in rampage, to be interesting as he looks as if he’s the real bad guy, but I feel he’s more of a anti-hero or at least a victim as I do not think he fits the description of Pure Evil. It’s not like he killed anyone important yet. No one considers Scar from FMA to be a real antagonist. The village seems to be a greater hidden evil. “The shrine’s orders are absolute.” You can’t expect any good from that.

We do find a bit of yaoi hint with Aki’s obsession to Kyouhei. For some reasons, this summer is a female-bait season, but hey, as long they don’t make out, I’m fine.

Score: 8.e/10

I blame Chiaki Ishikawa for reminding me of The Mysterious Cities of Gold with her song (LOL). Great song though.

Natsume Yuujinchou San

The recipe for Natsume Yuujinchou remains the same and will still be the same. Natsume Yuujinchou is just a slow-paced and relaxing youkai slice-of-life anime. It doesn’t really require anyone to watch the previous seasons completely as the entire show is episodic. Natsume and Nyanko-sensei keep doing whatever they do best: Relax, meet some youkais and react accordingly…Help them or chase them out. The series offers some heart-warming moments with the interaction of Natsume and several youkai. P.S.: I’m starting to believe that Nyanko-sensei was Reiko’s pet in her days, since he just seems to know about her than anyone else which pretty much explains why he is still protecting Natsume even though the Book of Friends is getting weaker and weaker.

RIP Tea Cup Youkai. Your sacrifice will remembered…for about 2 days.

Score: 8.Pi/10

Yuru Yuri

What is Yuru Yuri? My main description of the show would be a half-decent show about 4 middle-school lezbos. We got about 3-4 lesbian jokes which get boring after a while. The only strength of the show seems to be the realistic age-height proportion (lol)…Middle Schoolgirls who look like Middle Schoolgirls. So far, the comedy has been hit-and-miss as there was some glimpse of gold, but we mainly get coal. Is the show worth watching? Yes, unconvincedly, if you just want to waste some FREE time, but we’ve all seen Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh before and Yuru Yuri is not as good as these shows.

Score: 5.lez/10

I really hate the opening song.

Ikoku Meiro No Croisée

Don’t you love a story about a cute little “japonaise” going to france as a “slave worker”? Ok, that was a bit of a bad joke about the “slave” thing, but you get the setting of the anime. Ikoku Meiro No Croisée focuses around cute little girl, Yune, going to France to work for a pre-adult, Claude, in his iron workshop. There might not be any slavery thing, but I can predict a romance building up which could chase away many viewers and gain the love of every pedophiles of this world. I’m still very concerned about that. However, I have I have to admit that the first episode was very well done in its beautiful animation and character design. In addition, we’re not likely to see any senseless fan service. I do find it hilarious that Claude sold Yune’s most prized possession, a kimono that is a memento from her mother which would create a bond between those 2. Who cares about family keepsake when you get to work? :p

Score: 7.loli/10

There’s nothing better than a chillax song.

Sacred Seven

The main character, Tandoji Arma, is a guy with super powers who wants to be left alone and who is feared by 99.9% of all the school students except obviously for one girl. Let’s all thanks Sunrise that she isn’t another big b00bs chicks. Funny enough, she doesn’t seem important (hahaha) even though she is. It’s just me not wanting to know characters name. However, we all know the chick will never get him as she is no match for the leader of a maid army, a Lolita chick who happens to be accompanied with a mecha-piloting butler and a talking backpack (lol). A silly army comes with an even more sillier leader. However, she’s another character who blindly puts her trust to a stranger like Tandoji, but I do agree with her philosophy buying anything for her goals, even an entire school…Heil the abuse of power.

Well, Go Go Power Rangers! I do enjoy being wrong about an anime after saying this is going to be an epic fail for sure. In contrast to Tiger & Bunny that seems to target a western demographic, Sacred Seven is somewhat a more appealing super hero anime for those wanting to escape from the western style without necessarily going away from going away from it. The anime doesn’t excel at originality but does bring back some good memories of super hero series such as Megaman, Casshern, Power rangers and Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad without being a total rip-off. The animation style and fighting scenes that try to make you think it’s epic really are strong points of this anime. Plus, there is an army of maids…what else could you ask more?

Score: 8.Sunrise/10

Awesome opening song.

Summer Anime 2011 First Ep Impressions Part 1

Blood-C

As I expected so far, the first episode did a great job proving that Blood doesn’t blend well with Clamp. In addition, for a show that is supposed to look beautiful, the animation looks mediocre as hell. In Last Vampire, the focus was on bloody gore. In +, it was Saya’s identity search and road to accept her destiny to kill those beast. Both movie and anime had somewhat a form of horror genre. Sadly, Blood-C isn’t that. Not impressively gory, Not really psychological…It’s just senseless action added with lovey-dovey moments that doesn’t transition well. Saya is now an annoyingly clumsy girl who loves her daddy very much to a romantic stand-point. The actions in the first episode are pretty much resumed as “School life, Trips to the ground, Maiden Life, Trips to the ground, Kills monster without question, Goes Home with a smile to daddy.” If we didn’t watch The Last Vampire and +, we wouldn’t know WTF is happening on this show. This is a bit ironic as Clamp is clearly trying to stray away from the Blood series, but they pretty much expects us to see them to understand their stuff. If we go to the fight scene itself, it was okay but I do have a problem at how the creature got killed. Since the chiropteran was a statue (Facepalm), I laughing at how Saya couldn’t cut it with her sword until the beast got into a full transformation. Your final form is useless if you become killable which is a bit retarded. As a blood series, it fails so far. As a Clamp show, it ranks even below than Kobato. Oh Yeah, did I say Saya trips to the ground? Oh Clamp, what have you done? At least, provide us with a good opening song which isn’t the case right here. The episode gets a “marvelous” 5/10.

Ro-Kyu-Bu!

Facepalm: I’ve found even worser than Blood-C. Ro-Kyu-Bu! isn’t only your next K-On! Basket anime. It’s also your next Kodomo no Jikan. Coach got fired for being a lolicon…Male High School Team get suspended…Talented Freshmen player who resents the sport become the temporary coach of the middle school girls team…Girls get into maid outfit…FUCK YOU! I can definitely predict where da fuck is this anime going. The only chick who can play will fall in love with the guy and problems arise. More stupidity will fall upon us and my brain will short-circuit again. I’m still surprise that Basketball was still the focus of 50% of the episode even though it’s just a driveway for more fan services. A 4/10 fits this anime pretty well, but I’m sure this anime scores a 10/10 for pedophiles.

Nurarihyon no Mago: Sennen Makyo

To much of my surprise and delight, Nurarihyon no Mago finally gets back on the good step. A new director and more source material really help to get back up from the shitty first season. For the first episode, they aired the death of Rikuo’s father, Rihan, and the FIRST chapter of the manga (lol). Seriously, how incompetent was that first director to not make the real first episode THE first episode of the anime. Putting that ep first would have shut the critics up who said that Rikuo is a shitty character for not initially wanting to become a Yokai. The anime finally took the path of Shounen Jump instead of being a retarded Mystical anime failingly trying to become a horror. However, it would be wrong to say that the anime will follow the manga closely considering Jaimi and Ryuji are introduced next week in the same ep. Well, as long it’s well done, there’s no problem. For bringing depth into Rikuo, this episode scores a 8/10.

Kami-sama no Memochou

The Memopad of God will lead me to the answers of my Biology test answers. Ok that’s irrelevant. I know bad joke is bad. WTF is Kamisama no Memo-chou? An anime about a detective called Alice. But not any detective, A NEET Detective!!!! But not any NEET Detective, A HIKIKOMORI Detective!!!!!!!!!!! That’s really the only NEET Thing To Do! This is somewhat a very pleasant anime to watch. Call Alice and Narumi a bad duo version of Victorique and Kuujo, but damn, Alice is so fucking cuter than Victorique! While the mystery could have been focalized a bit more, I did enjoy the slice of life element of the show where the main guy is just adapting or being force to adapt to the NEETs he’s being introduced. For the first time (I think), we have an anime where NEETS aren’t actually useless and creepy. NEETS are just officially unemployed or not in education and not necessarily outcast of society. I do find it funny that the playboy dude was actually a NEET. Somewhat, Alice seems to be the only hikikomori who’s actually BOSS! The series seems to be a must-watch this season. I don’t know what’s the strength of Gosick since I haven’t watched it all, but the characters of Kamisama no Memo-chou captivated me better than Gosick’s. Score 8.5/10

Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise

Well, considering I’ve started the first impression of Summer 2011 pretty negatively, why not finish this post the same way too? I’m too lazy, so I’ll do a short bash on this terribad show. The next impression will be more positive. The first moment of Twinkle Paradise made me facepalm so badly as we see bad guys trying to rob vegetables…FUCK THIS SHIT! In addition, the opening song is annoying. What the fuck is this show? An obvious parody of Sailor Moon about 2 girls mahou shoujos with obvious character traits. The red girl is the annoyingly energetic girl. The blue girl is the shy-type girl with big b00bs. The content looks very kiddy, but fan services also target an older audience. I think this anime might be good in the 9th dimension. Anyway, just…Don’t watch this! Score: -10/10 (notice the negative sign).

Anime Summer 2011 Preview

Is Summer 2011 as strong as Spring 2011? Many persons on the net said that Summer seemed lackluster. However, even though Spring 2011 was strong, there wasn’t much anime that truly stood out from the bunch. There were several good anime but no amazing or great anime either. While the average anime quality of Summer 2011 seems low, I think there will be a few anime that will stand out more than any anime from Spring.

Perverts will also find enjoyment in this season with so many moe and loli series. Anime Sport fans will definitely be disapointed during this season as the only sport anime is Ro-Kyu-Bu! (lol) which is more likely targetted for pedobears.

Stats:
# of anime in this post: 21
# of action anime: 8
# of loli anime: 9-10

Kamisama Dolls

Synopsis: Kyouhei, after moving away to Tokyo from his old town to get away from the events that happened, is on a goukon with his friends, including his old neighbor, Shiba. After drinking for a whole night, he and Shiba discover a dead, bloody, body in the elevator. He is told by his younger sister, Utao with her Kamisama Doll, that Aki, an old friend, and his Doll, are the culprits responsible.

This anime seems to be a bi-polar anime since, in the 2 sides of the story, you have a very cute part about a little sister meeting her brother in the outside world and a very obscure part about the brother’s dark past that relates to deaths. To mix Moe and Violence, will it work in this anime? Maybe, who knows? I think it’s worth to take a look. Plus: from what I’ve seen of the trailer, the music seems like it’s going to be great.

……………………………………………………………………………………………

Nurarihyon no Mago: Sennen Makyou

Synopsis: As he continues his ascension to the role of the Nura Clan’s leader, Nura Rikuo and his Hyakki Yakou must travel to Kyoto in order to face the Kyoto Youkai Clan’s reborn leader, Hagoromo Gitsune who was the former master of all spirits (I refuse to use the words “The Lord of Pandemonium” since it sounds lame) and the prime suspect of the death of Rikuo’s father, Rihan.

Well, a new director has been appointed to the anime. Hopefully, the second season will not disappoint like that horrible first season. Season 2 pretty much covers the good part of the source material. There is no excuse for shit. I’ve made my points in previous posts already, so there is no need for me to say more. Another bad anime will simply result in the death of the manga.

C episode 11: What a headache!

After the 11 episodes of C- The Money of Soul and Possibility Control, I find myself to think “WTF is the point of this anime?” 8-9 episodes of Yoga soul-searching for a path in his life. Present or Future…fight or not to fight…Get rich or die…Destroying the financial business vs destroying life. In the end, it turned into an epic fight between Mikuni who believes in the present and Yoga who believes in the future. Yoga wins by destroying the Yen currency in Japan which would weaken Mikuni’s powers. However, shouldn’t that apply to Yoga too? I don’t see how that makes much sense. While the fight was entertaining enough, I had to switch my brain off for a little while.

Yoga wins and what?

We get this shitty god-like dude who’s behind the Financial district saying to Yoga that its purpose is to lead people for a better future. RIGHTTTTT, suicide+people no longer existing = better future? LOL, maybe the anime is referencing that the world is a better place when there’s less humans. We need to to go back to the past and erase the existence of Willy Wonka in order to get rid of any source of inspiration used for C’s trolling.

Ok, the win of Yoga enables him to use the rotary press to give everyone’s future back. There’s a few catches. The present is a different world, so the future is different too. He doesn’t get Hanabi who is a different person. Msyu probably won’t become his daughter, but he does get her kiss in that episode though. The US Dollar currency replaces the Yen in japan…wait what? I’m facepalming at the fact this anime is trying to say that America is the Savior! Just ridiculous… Why not make Bush as the main character in a second season? Season 2 would be called B: Bush- The Debt of Soul and Possibly Retarded.

Questions such as “WTF is the Midas Money?” has yet to be answered. In the end, it is just black money with unknown effect to reality.

By using the rotary press, while it is to buy everyone’s future, it is really unknown if there was any change to Yoga’s future. He’s fighting for the future and all but using the black card means sacrificing your own future. A)Does buying everyone’s future include his own future? If yes, this black card is flawed. If no, then, what’s the point of fighting for everyone’s future when you’re damaging yours?

But seriously, after all the personal inner conflicts on choosing future or present, the climax is that the financial district district still exists and will still exist as long as there is a future. After 11 episodes, the animators finally realized they created an impossible dilemma to solve with the little amount of time. You bankrupt someone and the loser’s life and surroundings lose all future. You try to keep someone alive and it fucks everyone’s future. You try to avoid fighting and have your opponent or yourself cut your cash in half which should…still fuck you. 11 episodes to tell you that there is no possible choice but to buy some time with the black card. But since the future is alternated, is Yoga’s new future as strong as his past future? Will someone even have the same conclusion as him when the erasing of the financial district occurs? In the end, the anime showed that the animators had no ideas what to do with the ending. However I’ll give credit to them for making me think a bit, even though I got a huge headache.

C could easily become a visual novel game using the style of Higurashi or Steins;Gate, where we try to find the ultimate route to the happy ending (LOL). I already thought up of 2 possible ending that could work in the ideal circumstance.

1)To accept fighting: However, do nothing but have a cup of tea during the 666 seconds which results into a draw. You don’t gain. You don’t lose. You don’t receive damage. No change to reality? But like I said, it’s on an ideal circumstance which is still impossible in real circumstance due human’s nature to go forward with enrichment and power which would cause distrust between the opposing forces. You know world peace is impossible.

2)Yoga can always spend his life to expose the financial district to the real world and go witch-hunting on the entrees. However, senseless killing will occur which results into a bad future.

As you can see, no matter what ending comes up, it comes to the same thing. This anime is just telling us “Humanity is fucked and so let’s ask the help of the US”.

3)Have Hatsune Miku stand before the erasing power of C and activate this:

You know Mikuni fails compared to Abridged Seto Kaiba since he can’t screw the rules.

While I would consider the series a 7.5/10 when i turn off my brain, the last episodes gets a brilliant 10……………………………………………..out of 100 :p

Review: Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? OVA: an ass themed episode

My love for Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? only grew as time goes by.

Warning: Protect your ass virginity!!

Following the announcement of the licensing of Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? by funimation and of a new season coming up in the near future, we get more delicious stuff with an OVA episode!

HEHE

Summary of episode:
-Haruna makes a festival event
-Orito and Ayumu forms a pervy team during the festival and school events
-Seraphim’s cooking is still lethal
-Ayumu is no longer a virgin
-The harem count reached 6

Keyword of the episode: ASS

Watching the ova made me think that not seeing KWDK’s weirdness brings a hole in my soul. We may not get Ayumu cross-dressing as a Masou Shoujo, but the series just take the weirdness to a newer level by de-virginising his ass. It is things like Ayumu facial expression that reminds of Seto no Hayanome with Nagasumi losing his Firrsstooo Kissuuu to Masa-san :p However, I do feel disturbed that the dude just looked more girlier than when he puts on his masou shoujo suit (lol).

People would just mistake this for a Hentai picture shot

LOL Expression

0.o

Well, it’s pretty funny considering that we finally get to know who was the name of that normal girl who, without much surprise, was in love with Ayumu. Only after 12 episodes and one ova do we (or at the very least, I) learn that she is called Taeko Haramatsu. We get a confirmation that she likes the dude. Pretty obvious, but I couldn’t ignore the trollbility that she liked Orito (lol). I was pretty surprised how normal the reason why she likes him. Well, she is normal after all (lol). Congrats to Ayumu for increasing his harem to 5 chicks. Oh wait, it doesn’t end here, because Ayumu got a new member on his harem, Sarasvati. The reason for her falling in love with him is a silly yet hilarious one…looking at his ass! I wonder if it’s because Ayumu is no longer an ass virgin (lol). Seriously, I’m not sure how you fall in love after looking at someone’s ass. The ass factor has never been turn-on success for me. I kinda fear that Saras has a dick hidden in her hot panties. I’m pretty sure that there will be some doujin artists ready to draw some Futanari action. Honestly, Sarasvati will probably bring diversity as a truly perverted female unlike the other members of Ayumu’s harem. In addition, while we may not get a shy megane-shoujo into the harem, I think Haramatsu’s personality is pretty much similar to what I want already. I wonder if Kanami will also join the harem. Why not? Let’s have Ayumu get all the known chicks in the show…It’s almost done anyway. Orito is pretty much meant to stay alone and be jealous of Ayumu for eternity. It’s something to look forward in season 2.

She has b00bs :p

She got a nice view of Ayumu's butt

Damn Orito

Hmmm, on this special episode, the voice for Ayumu’s delusion of Yuu is pretty much disappointing. The point of those delusions is to make Yuu look more cuter than she already is. Whoever was playing delusion Yuu didn’t really have the voice of a cute little sister, but rather more of an adult young sister of an older dude which kinda kills the purpose. However, since we’ve already heard the real voice Yuu, do we really need a guest delusion voice for her character? I wouldn’t mind seeing the show stick with only one seiyu for Yuu and her delusion form.

Cute face, but the guest voice wasn't really KAWAII

There wasn’t any anime during spring 2011 that I felt had good fan service action. Rie Kugimiya, along with some clichés, kinda ruined Hidan no Aria for me which led me to drop the show after 5-6 few episodes. I lost interest in We, Without Wings after 2 episodes. So, I was pretty much disconnected from any kind of fan services. I really found enjoyable to see a few cosplays from the KWZDK characters. You really can’t go wrong with Sera wearing a ninja suit or a tight retro undercover spy suit. Considering, she’s a vampire ninja…the ninja suit was needed (lol). I mean…those vampire ninjas wear mage caps and maid costumes, but have never even put any kind of ninja clothing. It was about time.

Vampire Ninja ❤

LOL

I’m surprised how good of a duo Ayumu and Orito makes. Ayumu brings a very subtle loving perversion while Orito brings that pervy-sage style persona. One is somewhat lucky with chicks and the other just completely fails in his love life. This combo needs to be developed in the second season. Orito’s epic fail life would make the show much more refreshing whenever or if we start getting tired of Ayumu being a victim. Let’s pray to the pervert god statue.

ERO POWER!!

It was a very entertaining episode as usual. I give it a good 8.5/10. You can expect me to actively write about the second season of Kore Wa Zombie Desu Ka? when it comes out in a forseeable future. Spring 2011 is just so hard for me to write anything (lol) because the season was just filled with 7 to 8-pointer shows (you can imagine that there wasn’t really a 9-pointer anime that truly stood out among others).

Deadman Wonderland 6: FUCK YEAH!!!

Warning: The World has not ended yet. So, taking over the world is still possible. Long live The Führer! Heil Thaivu22! After some a lame-ass trip to Toronto, I really needed my weekly dose of bloody violence with Deadman Wonderland’s newest episode.

Summary of ep:
– Minatsuki is cute
– Cute Minatsuki is evil
– Evil Minatsuki is hot!!
– She swears
– She’s perfect
– The lullaby has ended

The show revolved around Ganta’s newest opponent, Minatsuki Takami aka, as you can see, Yoh’s beloved little sister. The introduction for her character just came in this episode perfectly in my opinion. Many anime would require 1 or 2 episodes to explain a character with a background story before doing anything cool with it. However, Deadman Wonderland not only perfectly explained her character, it managed to do an acceptable background in less than an episode and integrated it during the fight. Have her trick Ganta with some puppy eyes and then backstab him at the start of the match. In addition, do she need a full flashback? No, only one 30-sec scene to explain why is fucked up in the head, another short scene to tell why is she in prison and one brother to tell why she is a liar (lol) were used for the character development. What was important in the episode is that it was simply fulfilling enough. No pointless filler. The execution was just great.

lol

The Proper Way how to speak to a sis-con brother

The proper way to handle your brother

I simply laughed out loud when Ganta was just playing right at the hands of Minatsuki. Ganta tried getting another chick after Shirou and that didn’t go well. Minatsuki simply handled him like a toy. All the swearing from Minatsuki is simply comedy material for me…actually, Psycho-Hummingbird is my type of girl 🙂 She’s having an orgasm whenever she inflicts pain to others. If her brother can’t make her cum, he’s better off as a human shield (lol).

HOT!!!!

Fucking HOT

I fucking agree

Damn

Mistery continues on the show with Shiro being The Wretched Egg. It would seem like the Vice Warden, Tamaki, is on opposing force to the Warden who happens to be a super skinny old fart and who seems to know Ganta’s family. Tamaki wants to control Deadman Wonderland and contain the Wretched Egg while the Warden apparently wants her go loose. Interestingly, it seems that the warden is trolling Tamaki who believes that the old man can’t move. This prision is just a container of conspiracy between everyone and anyone. I really think it will be fun to see what happens next.

The Warden 0.o

Very Entertaining Episode: 8.5/10. I really hope this series goes for a 24-26 episode run. With apparent violence and sexual language, chances aren’t that high, but you never know.

Deadman Wonderland ep 5: Shiro Rules!!!

This is the first anime-related post ever since the change to the Vertigo theme. Plus, I need to test some formats. So what’s anime is best to talk about? Well, Deadman Wonderland episode 5 is out and I’m having fun watching the series. Violence and Death is always fun for a sadist.

Seriously, the opening song is pretty addicting.

Warning: I do not guarantee the post is spoiler-free
