Anime TV Series

Gintama The Sequel

Synopsis: Continuation of the first series. The samurai didn’t stand a chance. First, the aliens invaded Japan. Next, they took all the jobs. And then they confiscated everyone’s swords. So what does a hotheaded former samurai like Sakata “Gin” Gintoki do to make ends meet? Take any odd job that comes his way, even if it means losing his dignity.

Rejoice!!! There is a good reason to go back to crunchyroll (lol). The super randomness is finally back in anime to blow minds up. I really can’t wait for Gintama to come back this april. I miss Tsukuyu <(** < ) . Watch out Gintoki, because Zura is trying to learn the ultimate technique from Lake Toya’s mom (no pun intended? dun dun dun).

30-Sai no Hoken Taiiku

Synopsis: Based on a guide-book teaching shy men around 30 how to date and have sex with women.

It is the most original concept of this century so far. Even though I’m not 30, this anime seems interesting enough to put a smile on my face. Oppai is Justice!!!!!!

Sket Dance

Synopsis: The hilarious misadventures of the “Sket Dan”; a trio of high-schoolers who help out people as part of their club activity. Himeko, the violent “yankee”-girl with a soft spot for cute things. Switch, the brainy otaku who only talks via a computerized speech-application. And Bossun, the atypical leader of this loony bunch.

We got another Gintama-esque shounen-comedy anime this season. I’m not sure about the timing of Sket Dance, but sure, why not? Random comedies are made to be watched at random times anyway. The thing that bothers me the most is: Why is Gintoki’s VA doing Switch computer voice. I think a robotic would do the job much better.

Deadman Wonderland

Synopsis: Ganta Igarashi has been convicted of a crime that he hasn’t committed, and sent to a new, privately owned and operated prison, where the inmates are the main attraction in a modern-day twist to the gladiatorial coliseum of ancient times. Throw in a healthy dose of weird little girl, some new-found super powers, and a little conspiracy theory, and you have Deadman Wonderland.

Violent, Badass, Crazy, Weird…Pretty much what I need. Plus, you got to say that the character design is quite great. However, I do admit that I lost interest somewhere in the seinen manga. Hopefully, the series is a 12-13 episode series which is short enough for me to keep watching.

Synopsis: In the world where the taste and texture of food are very important there is Toriko a hunter of precious foods regularly hired by restaurants and the rich , a man with inhuman skills to capture the ferocious, evasive and rare animals to complete his ultimate dinner course and then his current accomplice a weak timid person who was inspired by toriko’s greatness and accompanies him on all his journeys on his quest for the course of his life

Cool shounen action food anime…I’ll be sure to watch that while eating (lol). I pretty much skipped a lot from the first half of the manga to have surprises in the anime. However, all of these shounen series will have to fight to get viewing priority. Toriko has some similarity to One Piece. It brings epicness to food hunting. I read that One Piece and Toriko are having a cross over special episode which is cool.

Hana Saku Iroha

Synopsis: Hanasaku Iroha centers around 16-year-old Ohana Matsumae who moves from Tokyo to out in the country to live with her grandmother at an old hot spring inn named Kissuisō. Ohana begins working at the inn and makes friends with the other employees.

After writing so much about Shounen, I guess a beautiful slice of life anime comes in next. In addition, the character models are so cute. This season seems so violent that we’d probably need a cool-down anime.

Kämpfer für die Liebe

Synopsis: Senou Natsuru is your normal, everyday high school student. However he´s been chosen to be a Kampfer, who´s objective consists on fighting other Kampfer with either guns, swords or magic, however, there´s catch; first you can´t chose if you´re a Kampfer or not, and second, you must have the body of a girl to use your powers.

TARPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never really finished season 1, but from what I’ve watched, I thought Kampfer is actually quite fun in my opinion. However, according to Moetron, it will only have 2 episodes. :p

Synopsis: Steins;Gate is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN who has been doing their own research on time travel tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.

You should know what to expect from this anime. It’s from the creator of Chaos;Head. This could be a very fun psychological anime where you’re just laughing your ass on the main character.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal

Synopsis: The story takes place in the distant future and focuses on a boy named Yuma Tsukumo, the number one bad boy at his school. Something unexpected happens when Ryoga challenges him to a Duel as the mysterious ghost of Astral appears before them, a new legend begins.

Ugh………Looks like shit. Here I thought that Yu-gi-oh! GX was the most kiddy show of this card game franchise. It’s worse than CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLE!!!!! The main character has a freaking Scouter!!! I’m expecting a catchphrase like “It’s OVER 9000”. It could probably be worse than Cardfight! Vanguard. I’m sure that the abridged series will be much more entertaining. Then again, there’s isn’t a lot of good abridged team.

The World God only Knows Season 2

Synopsis: Keima Katsuragi is an avid galge gamer known at his school as “Otamega” (a derogatory term combining the words Otaku and Megane) and on the internet a “The Capturing God.” One day he receives an e-mail offering him a contract to “capture” girls. He accepts thinking it’s a challenge and a demon from Hell named Elsee appears. She asks for his help in capturing runaway spirits that are hiding in “real” girls. He refuses stating he only likes the girls from the game. She tells him that if he refuses then both of their heads will be cut off.

I’ve gained a new-found respect on Katsuragi. The last episode of the first season made me laugh crazily. This show made want to get a PFP which is way better than the PSP.

A Channel

Synopsis: The story revolves around the everyday life of four high school girls: the flighty Run, the reckless Tōru, the timid Yūko, and the level-headed Nagi.

0.0 A little girl with a baseball bat. I can see it: the series with enough Moe energy I need in my life to put a smile on my face. A Channel reminds me a little of Lucky Star for some reason.

Seikon no Qwaser II

Synopsis: In St. Mikhailov Academy, Oribe Mafuyu meets a silver-haired boy called Alexander. He is a Qwaser, a being who can manipulate iron and draws his power from breast milk. A mystery surrounding an Icon transforms the academy into the setting for conflict between the various different Qwaser.

Alchemist who feeds on breast milk…Forget about this anime. Season 1 was bad. It’s even worse when you actually have to wait one week for the uncensored version to come out. So, don’t expect any change on season 2.

Synopsis: The X-Men are a team of elite super-powered mutants gathered by Professor X to protect ordinary humans even as they are persecuted by them. In the wake of the death of one of their own, however, the team has stopped operations for a whole year. Then Professor X receives word of a mutant girl’s mysterious disappearance in Japan. Sensing that something larger is afoot, he reassembles the team and sends them to investigate. They uncover a connection between her disappearance and an anti-mutant group known as the U-Men.

After not caring about Ironman and Wolverine, I think the X-Men design is the most resembling to the marvel comic style. It could be the best one. It all depends on the plot now. Then again, the antagonists are called the U-men. It can’t be less original. So expect another unepic fail. Well on the bright side, Wolverine got a new look! Thanks God for that!

Appleseed XIII

Synopsis: In the wake of the destruction of a worldwide non-nuclear war, the city Olympus has become the control center of the world. Run by Bioroids (cloned humans made from only the best DNA), it is defended from terrorists by special military forces. Among these are former LAPD SWAT member Deunan Knotts and her multipurpose cyborg partner Brialeos. They face a challenge from the Human Liberation Front and its terrorist underbelly the Argonauts. The leader of this group, Al Ceides, supposedly died 20 years ago in an attack on Poseidon, but now his shadow emerges once again.

An old anime came back to life. I didn’t care about Appleseed back then and I doubt that I will today. In addition, character design really SUCKS badly.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko

Synopsis: The story revolves around a highschool boy named Niwa Makoto. He lives with his aunt’s family since his parents are away on business. It is there where he meets his mysterious cousin of the same age Touwa Erio — who happens to tie a futon mattress around her upper body and is a self-proclaimed alien. Her staple food is pizza. Erio had been missing for half a year and was found floating in the sea. She doesn’t remember anything about what happened during that period of time, but she began to think that it was the act of an alien and wanders the neighbourhood wrapped in the futon.

The story seems whack enough. Let’s not forget that Shaft is doing this anime. So, I expect some crazy shit. Reading this synopsis reminds me a lot of Arakawa under the Bridge, but more perverted and loli. I’m looking forward to watch this anime.

Kaiji Season 2

Synopsis: It has been several months after the ‘Castle of Despair’ has ended. Itou Kaiji, now more in debt disappears completely from society. Even the loan shark Endou gives up on searching for Kaiji when he notices in the parking lot that the two cars on either side of his parked car has been brutally damaged… someone.

It’s another show that I didn’t bother watching the first season. However, facts remain that Nobuyuki Fukumoto is an excellent mangaka. I really enjoyed Akagi and Buraiden Gai. You can’t deny that those facial reactions are pure awesomeness.

Synopsis: A high school girl mistakenly reads Drucker’s Management and she leads a baseball club to victory according to the lessons in the book.

I have absolutely no idea what to think about this anime from the plot. The manager’s approach is hilariously silly and the baseball team looks ultimately shitty. I’ll have to call Moshidora the silly and slice of life version of the manga Last Inning where a business man is coaching a shit team.

Oh yeah, did I say it’s going to have a live-action movie too?

Ao no Exorcist

Synopsis: This world consists of two dimensions joined as one, like a mirror. The first is the world in which the humans live, Assiah. The other is the world of demons, Gehenna. Ordinarily, travel between the two, and indeed any kind of contact between the two, is impossible. However the demons can pass over into this world by possessing anything that exist within it. Satan is the god of demons, but there’s one thing that he doesn’t have, and that’s a substance in the human world that is powerful enough to contain him!! For that purpose he created Rin, his son from a human woman, but will is son agree to his plans? or will he become something else…? An exorcist?

It’s your average shounen anime, but still remains a fun one none-the-less. Your protagonist is the usual reckless moron. You’ve got some badass characters, but most of them, and i can vouch for it, are pretty ordinary. I’m not sure how long this anime is going to run considering the manga has only 23 monthly chapter releases so far.

Maria†Holic: Alive

Synopsis: The story centers on a sophomore named Kanako who enrolls in all-girls school because she has a phobia of men and wants find her destined yuri partner. She meets a captivating freshman named Mariya who fits her criteria — except her seemingly ideal mate happens to be a cross-dressing sadistic boy.

I didn’t watch the first season, because I simply have no time. I doubt that I’ll have any for this season. But I do suggest it to anyone that like cross-dressing comedy lol.

PS: Mediafactory is being an ass of a company as they don’t allow the trailer to go on sites like Youtube. So I’m putting the OP of the first season.

C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

Synopsis: The Japanese government was rescued from the brink of financial collapse by the Sovereign Wealth Fund. For its citizens, however, life has not improved, and unemployment, crime, suicide, and despair are rampant. Kimimaro, raised by his maternal grandmother after the disappearance of his father and the death of his mother, is a scholarship student whose only dream is to avoid all this and live a stable life. One day, however, he meets a man who offers him a large sum of money if he’ll agree to pay it back. From then on his fate is radically altered as he’s drawn into a mysterious area known as “The Financial District.”

It reminds me of the Matrix. Somehow, I predict this series to be the biggest surprise of the season. I can say it has a lot of potential. I expect some great mindfucking moments. We really need that in the moment.

Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa nai

Synopsis: A big city filled with people and buildings. It is now winter. When you look up, there is the cold white sky. Young people with anxiety. Love. This is just a story you can find anywhere.

Romance…Well what can I say? It looks cute. Oh crap, I’m going to say: SHUFFLE Ver.2.0. It’s not on my priority list, so I doubt I’ll be picking this up.

Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi

Synopsis: Kazuma has moved to a small town in the country. On his first day at school, he meets Ui when he is lost his way. They go to school together, but Kazuma accidentally slips and kisses Ui…. To make matters worse, Ibuki, Ui’s close friend, sees it…. Well, what will happen to his new school life…?

More Romance…Looks bad and boring. I can see it. The Harem for Lolicons!! I’m partly a lolicon and I wouldn’t even bother watching it.

Tiger & Bunny

Synopsis: Schternbilt City is home to people called “Next,” who use their special abilities to protect the people as superheroes. These heroes solve cases and save lives so they can wear sponsor logos or acquire “hero points.” Their activities are documented on the popular program “Hero TV,” which picks the “King of Heroes” in a yearly ranking. The veteran hero Wild Tiger has always preferred to work alone, but now he’s been assigned the rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr., who has a different perspective on being a superhero.

Huh? lol What The Fuck? Is this supposed to be Japan’s response to the Justice League and American Idol? I’m not sure if this is a comedy or not, but it looks horrible for my taste.

Synopsis: While the title suggests a story of simple, everyday school life, the contents are more the opposite. The setting is a strange school where you may see the principal wrestle a deer or a robot’s arm hide a rollcake. However there are still normal stories, like making a card castle or taking a test you didn’t study for. The art style is cute but mixes with extreme expressions and action sequences for surprising comedy bits.

Hmmm….right. It doesn’t look bad, but I think we have a fair share of random comedy anime already (lol). And from the style Nichijou possess, I think it’s a kind of series where the story is probably more fitting in the manga form.

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Boku-tachi wa Mada Shiranai

Synopsis: Six childhood friends grew apart in high school. One of them is Jintan, now a shut-in. He gets a request to fulfill a wish for Menma, the only one of their friends to have stayed the same over the years. In order to grant her wish, he will have to find and reunite their old friends.

Say Yes to another Hikikomori anime (lol). It definitly looks like a heart-warming anime series. However, if you look at the preview, you learn that “Menma” is dead. DUN DUN DUN. We’re probably seeing an anime that deals with trauma and puberty… The “when a close friend dies, you’re bound to change” genre. PS: The damn title is so GIGANTIC!!!

Showa Monogatari

Synopsis: The story follows the Yamazaki family in Tokyo during the year 1964, which is when Japan hosted the Summer Olympics.

Do not confuse “Showa” with the word “Shower”? LOL This is not a shower tale. BTW, This looks cool actually. I’ve read it’s targeted at an elderly audience, but I think anyone could find this anime heartwarming.
