Houkago no Pleiades PV2

This is the preview of the Gainax-Subaru anime that is called Houkago no Pleiades. I think I got the spelling right (LOL). I really have no idea what-so-ever the purpose of Subaru is in this anime.

Looks like after Madoka Magica from Shaft, we’ll get another well-animated magical girl anime, this time from Gainax. I’m not sure if it will be any good but, hey, you got Mio-chan in a magical girl costume. I only read that it’s going to be in ONA format set to release, on February 1st 2011, on Youtube.

First Impressions: Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica & Gosick

I’m just going to do 2 anime in one post.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica

Well first off, I kinda thought that the OP is a complete turn off (lol). From the opening, you’d think it’s just a crappy loli series.

Ignoring the OP, Madoka Magica looks to be trying to become the most solid magical girl anime. This is a series that I overlooked on my preview guide. It came to my surprise that it was actually good. If I have to make a comparison: Sakura CardCaptor meets So Ra No Wo To, Bakemonogatari and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. The visual of this anime is absolutely splendid as well the amazing soundtracks produced by Kalafina who also worked on So Ra No Wo To and Kara no Kyoukai’s music. It might be a series worth to watch to the end. You normally don’t see a magical girl anime with such quality animation and epic music. Normally, a magical girl anime would simply rely on a cute little girl fighting against weak weird creatures and villain without anything else. 7.5/10

Gosick

Here is the childish OP but a good song nonetheless:

My expectations weren’t broken. It was boring. Enough Said…Post is finished…Ok I’m joking…about the post not about Gosick being boring. I will give credit that Victorique is quite cute and all but I kinda believe she doesn’t make a great detective. The fact that she only needs to be given an explanation of the criminal case to solve it without moving makes it a little bit boring. Her “Fountain of Wisdom” will gather “all fragments of chaos” to bring the “truth”. It sounds dull. The first case is also dull. It seems the current criminal case focuses more on the “why” than the “how”, because the “how” was lame. I hope the “why” will become interresting. The episode was lacking but you could say it was solid. 6.5/10

Gundam 00: A wakening of the trailblazer Review (contains spoilers)

I’ve just finished watching the movie. Considering I’ve read that the movie was full of WTF and Facepalm moments (like Mina being a recycled character of Nina), you can’t say that my expectations were broken. Nonetheless, if you’re looking a good action anime movie, then, yeah, A Wakening of the Trailblazer is pretty good. However, if you’re looking for a movie with a good storyline, forget about it. Truthfully, Gundam 00 didn’t need a movie to bring closure to the series considering season 2 already had a satisfying one.

Summary (spoiler):
The world is going to a peaceful direction. People are starting to become innovators. Aliens from Jupiter appears. Celestial Being and The Earth Federation tries to fight them off. The aliens are too strong, thus Setsuna must use his superior Innovator abilities to stop the alien.

Feltd:
“Poor Feltd” That’s my general feeling throughout the entire movie. She’s in love with Setsuna and gets nothing in return. Though, I guess Feltd’s flowers were actually significant for him, but that remains it. In the story, 50 years later, Setsuna’s first woman contact is a freaking hug to Marina.

Mecha:
If you thought Gundam 00 Season 2 was really over the top with 00-raiser’s specs, the movie surpasses that. Every darn mobile suits went surpassing Kira’s Strike Freedom Gundam. Truly Beam-light a beam like spectacle. Is it that supposed to be a bad thing or a good thing? Hmmm both, I guess. The action was great but it was over-killed at the same time.

Gundam 00: A wakening of The Trailblazer was an okay movie to say the least. Good action movie but with full of “oh screw this” moments. The “wtf” moments really came in a lot in the ending, which kinda was unsatisfying.

Lying Mii-Kun and Broken Maa-chan: Precious Lies (Live-Action Trailer)

Lying Mii-Kun and Broken Maa-chan: Precious Lies is getting a live-action movie in January 2011. Woooooooooo!!!!! I’ve read the manga and I loved everything about it. The live-action movie seems much more light-hearted than the manga.

Synopsis: The setting is a rural city in which a kidnapping and a series of murders are happening simultaneously, where there was also a kidnapping 8 years ago. The victims, the compulsive liar “Mii-kun” (the narrator), and “Maa-chan” (Misono Mayu) reunite and start living together, despite of the fact that the kidnapped children were in Mayu’s apartment…

Yes, the reason why I like Precious Lies is because the story is crazy. It’s not often you see this kind of tragic love story. I’m a little bit disappointed that Mii-kun seems more comic in the movie, but I’m still excited!!!

Now this is a PURE WIN anime: 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku

The guide-book, 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku (Health and Physical Education for 30-Year-Olds), is going to be made into an anime that will air in April 2011. Apparently, it is aimed for 30-year-old geezers who didn’t get laid yet or hasn’t had a single girlfriend in their entire life. That’s what you call an original weird concept. And I LIKE THIS, even though I’m only 18. This whole idea is just a “lol” concept. If done right, I could probably laugh my ass off while watching this kind of anime.

Anime Winter 2011 Season Preview

This is my Anime Winter 2011 Season Preview guide. After making this Guide, I realized that I’m willing to sit through a lot of crap. I believe that Spring 2011 will be much more enjoyable than Winter 2011. *sigh* Someone needs to pay me. Nonetheless, there are still some good shows out there.

Leave a comment about what anime you’ll watch.

Beelzebub

Synopsis: Strong delinquent Oga (nicknamed Ogre, Demon, or “it’d be alright if he’d just die” by other delinquents) picks up a baby that turns out to be the son of the Great Demon King! Chosen to raise the baby until he’s in age of destroying mankind, together with the demon maid Hilda, they’re sure to make mankind die… of laughter!

The most awesome manga of 2009 is finally turning into an anime!! Long Live The New World Oga!!!! My winter will be complete with Beezebub. Naked Baby + Demonic Delinquent = Brilliant lol. Best Anime of 2011 candidate there.

…when Kara no Kyoukai Blu-ray box set (imported product by Ani-plex USA) will be available for NA for $400 USD in February. lol It’s sub only. I guess it’s less worse than actually importing directly from Japan for $600, but that’s still TOO MUCH!!!! BUT THIS STUFF IS TOO GOOD!!!
