Anime Spring 2011 Season Preview

I’m right in time! This season is full of shounen, lolicon, random comedy and slice of life anime. Not all anime (Sekai Ichi no Hatsukoi, Dog Days, Dororon Enma-Kun Meeramera, Hamtaro, Hidan no Aria, etc…) has been put in the preview.

Anime TV Series

Gintama The Sequel

Synopsis: Continuation of the first series. The samurai didn’t stand a chance. First, the aliens invaded Japan. Next, they took all the jobs. And then they confiscated everyone’s swords. So what does a hotheaded former samurai like Sakata “Gin” Gintoki do to make ends meet? Take any odd job that comes his way, even if it means losing his dignity.

Rejoice!!! There is a good reason to go back to crunchyroll (lol). The super randomness is finally back in anime to blow minds up. I really can’t wait for Gintama to come back this april. I miss Tsukuyu <(** < ) . Watch out Gintoki, because Zura is trying to learn the ultimate technique from Lake Toya’s mom (no pun intended? dun dun dun).

30-Sai no Hoken Taiiku

Synopsis: Based on a guide-book teaching shy men around 30 how to date and have sex with women.

It is the most original concept of this century so far. Even though I’m not 30, this anime seems interesting enough to put a smile on my face. Oppai is Justice!!!!!!

Totoro + Inception = WIN

This is quite an awesome video. Now when I think about it, the last time I’ve ever stepped inside a cinema theatre was to watch Inception.

Gundam 00: A wakening of the trailblazer Review (contains spoilers)

I’ve just finished watching the movie. Considering I’ve read that the movie was full of WTF and Facepalm moments (like Mina being a recycled character of Nina), you can’t say that my expectations were broken. Nonetheless, if you’re looking a good action anime movie, then, yeah, A Wakening of the Trailblazer is pretty good. However, if you’re looking for a movie with a good storyline, forget about it. Truthfully, Gundam 00 didn’t need a movie to bring closure to the series considering season 2 already had a satisfying one.

Summary (spoiler):
The world is going to a peaceful direction. People are starting to become innovators. Aliens from Jupiter appears. Celestial Being and The Earth Federation tries to fight them off. The aliens are too strong, thus Setsuna must use his superior Innovator abilities to stop the alien.

Feltd:
“Poor Feltd” That’s my general feeling throughout the entire movie. She’s in love with Setsuna and gets nothing in return. Though, I guess Feltd’s flowers were actually significant for him, but that remains it. In the story, 50 years later, Setsuna’s first woman contact is a freaking hug to Marina.

Mecha:
If you thought Gundam 00 Season 2 was really over the top with 00-raiser’s specs, the movie surpasses that. Every darn mobile suits went surpassing Kira’s Strike Freedom Gundam. Truly Beam-light a beam like spectacle. Is it that supposed to be a bad thing or a good thing? Hmmm both, I guess. The action was great but it was over-killed at the same time.

Gundam 00: A wakening of The Trailblazer was an okay movie to say the least. Good action movie but with full of “oh screw this” moments. The “wtf” moments really came in a lot in the ending, which kinda was unsatisfying.

Lying Mii-Kun and Broken Maa-chan: Precious Lies (Live-Action Trailer)

Lying Mii-Kun and Broken Maa-chan: Precious Lies is getting a live-action movie in January 2011. Woooooooooo!!!!! I’ve read the manga and I loved everything about it. The live-action movie seems much more light-hearted than the manga.

Synopsis: The setting is a rural city in which a kidnapping and a series of murders are happening simultaneously, where there was also a kidnapping 8 years ago. The victims, the compulsive liar “Mii-kun” (the narrator), and “Maa-chan” (Misono Mayu) reunite and start living together, despite of the fact that the kidnapped children were in Mayu’s apartment…

Yes, the reason why I like Precious Lies is because the story is crazy. It’s not often you see this kind of tragic love story. I’m a little bit disappointed that Mii-kun seems more comic in the movie, but I’m still excited!!!

Anime Winter 2011 Season Preview

This is my Anime Winter 2011 Season Preview guide. After making this Guide, I realized that I’m willing to sit through a lot of crap. I believe that Spring 2011 will be much more enjoyable than Winter 2011. *sigh* Someone needs to pay me. Nonetheless, there are still some good shows out there.

Leave a comment about what anime you’ll watch.

Beelzebub

Synopsis: Strong delinquent Oga (nicknamed Ogre, Demon, or “it’d be alright if he’d just die” by other delinquents) picks up a baby that turns out to be the son of the Great Demon King! Chosen to raise the baby until he’s in age of destroying mankind, together with the demon maid Hilda, they’re sure to make mankind die… of laughter!

The most awesome manga of 2009 is finally turning into an anime!! Long Live The New World Oga!!!! My winter will be complete with Beezebub. Naked Baby + Demonic Delinquent = Brilliant lol. Best Anime of 2011 candidate there.

This is post is now dedicated for anime songs. Don’t expect to see any Lady Gaga haha.

There is no order of ranking since it’s so hard to know what good song is better than what other good songs.

How I choose the songs? From my ipod duh lol.

What to expect in winter 2011 for anime?

*This is a pre-preview guide for winter 2011*

It would seem to me that the number of shows I’m willing to check out and the number of shows I’m sticking to the end are decreasing every year. We’re getting good shows as frequently as WWE Monday Night RAW is having a good wrestling episode.

Then again Ric Flair would wish TNA wouldn’t be crap:

I’m looking at the current Winter 2011 anime charts and I’m only willing to check about 5-6 anime tv series and I’m 95% sure that I’m sticking to probably only 3 of them (Beelzebub, Kimi ni Todoke season II and Freezing). Others like Wolverine, Gosick and Supernatural got my attention but Supernatural might be the only one I’m going through the end since I’ve read the Gosick manga (it wasn’t great nor bad) and the Ironman anime wasn’t interesting which resulted in me not trusting in marvel and madhouse doing a great job.

Studio Deen is releasing 3 anime series next season: Starry Sky, Is This a Zombie? and Dragon Crisis. I don’t know why this studio is still even on business. You’d think after doing Giant Killing that they’ve started to go on a better direction but then they dropped the balls by making a great epic failure with Nurarihyon no Mago. I don’t know how badly they could have handled Nurarihyon no Mago which by the way is a cool shounen manga series. Read the manga but don’t ever bother with the anime. Dragon Crisis and Is This a Zombie? both seem weak and I don’t have a concrete idea about Starry Sky but looks like it will be a reverse harem which mostly likely will become a minus.

Not too sure what to think about Wandering Son. It will be produced by AIC which is a studio where you need to do Head or Tail in order to know if they’ll make a good series. The ratio between their good and bad shows is about 1:1. I’m not too impressed with the plot considering it doesn’t seem to fit with what I’ve seen of the art from the anime poster which makes it look like a serious slice of life anime. The problem is that the plot is about a boy is being mistaken as a girl. What AIC is animated apparently is a series trying to be serious romance with a silly premise. I smell a contradiction.

In the TV series section, Anime seems weaker for this next season.

The more positive part of winter 2011 is probably on the Movies and OVA section. Kara no Kyoukai is having its epilogue. KnK is just a series that’s amazing. If it ever hit the North American market, I’M FREAKING BUYING the dvds or blu-rays!! Mirai Nikki will come out as an OVA; The wait has really been long. It’s such a great seinen manga. REALLY GLAD to see an anime adaptation. Then there’s the 3D movies for Toriko and One Piece. Much to my surprise, Toriko still does not have an anime tv series. It’s been ranking high on the Weekly Shounen Jump ranking along with the Naruto-Bleach-One Piece series.

Expect me to do a much more complete preview guide before the new season starts.
