Beelzubub Chapter 113: I’ve seen it all now

The saga between Kunieda and Hilda continues as Kunieda tries to catch Oga’s body and Hilda tries to get Baby Beel who resides in it.

The most bizarre moment in Beelzebub has occurred:

LOL, it really feels that Aoi has started to become a rival for Hilda for the wrong reason:

Furuichi’s face says everything. I’m really disappointed at how the anime make him look like an overly perverted loser but in truth he’s a lucky mastermind (while being a bit pervert) who as brings in common sense into the group of the characters.

Tamura Ryohei obviously trolled in that chapter. Pretty funny how Oga and Beelzebub switching bodies would have been relevant to the story for a while, but in one page, the problem has already been resolved like nothing happened. Nonetheless, Beelzebub keeps me wanting to know what happens next, whether or not it will be a story or a comedy chapter.

Bleach: Chapter 435 Panic at the Dollhouse

Boooooooo!! A post about Bleach… This post is brought you by…Thai’s boredom.

Once upon a time…Blah Blah Blah…Ichigo has been turned into a toy-size and must fight a stuff animal. Oh wait, I meant a random kidnapped yakuza inside Mr. Pork.

Technically, Ichigo is training to activate his fullbring abilities which makes me say: “Huh What?”. 1)Ichigo has fullbring abilities? 2)What does fullbring training has to do with Shinigami powers? 3)Tite Kubo is trolling us. 4)We went from Lost Shinigami Arc to Fullbringers Arc. 5)Why did Ginjou even have a substitute shinigami badge in the first place? 6)Was part 4) and 5) part of Tite Kubo’s trolling or was that a plothole?

We learn that the fullbring ability requires something or someone whom the user is fond in order to use as a medium. After 15 minutes, the stuffed animal turned into “Rage” mode before Ichigo could try to use his substitute shinigami badge as a medium for the Fullbring.

Please Die, Ichigo!

It was pretty decent chapter again which is kinda disappointing since every other chapters were decent ever since Aizen arc. That makes it boring to read.

5 Odd Manga Recommendation

This post is dedicated for some weird/odd manga series.

Lying Mii-kun and Broken Maa-chan: Precious Lies

Synopsis: The setting is a rural city in which kidnapping and series of murders are happening simultaneously. 8 years ago a boy and a girl were kidnap and suffered through the hands of their perpetrator. The victims, the compulsive liar “Mii-kun” (the narrator), and “Maa-chan” (Misono Mayu) reunites and start living together, despite the fact that the recently reported missing children were within Mayu’s apartment…

For a lover of oddities, this short 5-chapters manga series is extremely lovable. The hostages become the criminals. It’s a beautiful romance between an unstable-minded kidnapper and a “supposedly” serial killer who lies constantly. This series has interesting twists and has a mysterious tone to the story.

Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to

Synopsis: A Life Description about the Mangaka Aito Yuuki and his Assistant Ashisu Sahoto. Aito-san doesn’t understand the feelings of the characters on his stories. So he asks Ashisu to help him. Ashisu would do everything for the work, she would even let him touch her breast so he will know how it feels like! The Habit?! The Pervert?! Can we understand them? That’s the Comedy of a Mangaka Life.

This manga is from the creator of Doujin Work. Personally, I thought it was funnier than Doujin Work. This series holds tons of fan-service as well as adult characters in loli bodies (lol). The main character is simply perverted and has the silliest motive for drawing manga.

Synopsis: Through his hobby, which is exploring (peeping?) through the spaces in-between, Heisaku-kun ends up falling in love with his neighbor, Fumio-chan. However, it turns out that Fumio-chan has also been spying on Heisaku-kun all this time. Will this uncontrollable pair’s hidden love ever be realized?

It’s not for kids because of the few sex scenes. For me, this one is simply a great romance manga series. I really liked the idea of having a stalker stalking another stalker. One word: Refreshing.

Anne Freaks

Synopsis: While trying to bury the body of his mother deep in the woods, high school student Yuri is approached by a strange girl who offers to help him. That is… if he promises to be her “parent killing assistant.” Meet Anne Freaks, a bright, attractive teenage girl normal in every way – except that she’s on a mission to kill her father, the leader of the dangerous extremist cult: the Kakusei Group.

It’s another odd romance LOL, but this time between a mother-killer and an insane girl looking to kill her parents. Seriously, am I really sane to like this kind of stuff?

Franken Fran

Synopsis: Fran can make anyone into anything, raise the dead, switch heads and bodies, and give you those eyes that you’ve always wanted. But do you actually want them? Is it a good thing to raise the dead? Do the ends justify the means? And does Fran care?

Now this is a series that is so creepy that it’s AWESOME!!! You always look forward the aftermath of Fran’s surgeries. Fran always look like she going to be helpful but in the end, terror befalls on the patient. Hilarious, Ugly, Fun, Creepy………WIN.

Nurarihyon no Mago Chapter 137: The Toilet Youkai

Summary: The Nura clan is on New Year holiday having a party. Natto Youkai and company found a painting of Karasu-Tengu’s wife. Maki (one of the Kiyutsugu squad chick) is being hunted by a pervy toilet youkai. Karasu-Tengu and his 3 sons, tagged along by Natto and others, come back to their home in Mount Takao. We meet his wife, Nuregarasu, who happens to be too hot for him. Karasu-Tenge got beat up by his wife for not coming home often. The end.

I need a drink

Reaction: Facepalm

Technically, nothing really happened. Then again, nothing happens in any shounen jump series at the moment. This chapter is as useful as the Tsurara Hyakki Yakou build-up arc. It introduces characters that may or may not be useful in the future. The latter seems more likely. I really just want the series to go back to a story arc.

The only thing new we discover is the reason why Karasu-Tenge has shrunk so much. He gets beat up so much that he ends up losing his “Fear” every time he goes home and we know how much important “Fear” is for youkai’s powers in the series.

I doubt Karasu-Tenge is wearing the pants in that relationship

The toilet youkai was really a fail, not even deserving the words “Epic Fail”. He peeps in Maki when she’s taken a piss and ends up losing his head due to an incantation that Maki learnt to defend herself against him. And why does the serious character is the most dangerous when drunk. It feels that was really too generic of a moment in anime/manga even for Gyukki.

Oh Snap

This chapter was very “meh”. 5/10

Horror Manga Recommendation: Ibitsu

by Ryou Haruka

A boy went to take his trash out late one night, and found a strange, creepy, lolita woman sitting amongst the garbage bags. She asked if he had a little sister, and he answered her, hurrying afterwards back to his apartment. When he looked out the window, she was gone. Who is the strange woman, and why does she give him such a bad feeling?

Whenever you read a horror manga, rarely will you be creeped out by the actual content. Ibitsu, perhaps, is the most creepy and horrific manga of this decade. It is what you call a true horror manga. The art, the freakiness of the lolita and her mystery make the story extremely thrilling. The lolita asks her signature question, then whatever someone answers, she gives that person a twisted death. The manga isn’t long and is really worth reading.

Exams over!!

I’ve finally finished my exams. And damn i believed I have screwed up my Linear Algebra exam…crap.

Came back home and Nurarihyon no Mago is near its end (YAY)!!! I couldn’t be more happy to see such a lame anime will stop to ruin the manga series. Day Rikuo and Night Rikup both failed in the anime in my opinion. The day form was too serious and not naive enought. The night form was also too serious and not bad-ass and pimp enough. Those 2 personalities were altered from the manga. There was a total lack of comic relief in order to bring more mystic. I would call this the failed version of Ghost Hunt.

Beelzebub chapter 89: “LOL” moments in that chapter. Oga has now been renamed “Bitch ass pussy” Oga after having dream about being in court (Judge: Furuichi) for losing too much lately.

Psyren: The Bleach-Inspired Time Travel Manga

This is a review of the most read manga in mangafox but yet poorly received series in Japan which will cause its demise. It went from one of the best-selling manga in japan at a certain point to a mediocre selling with a 2nd to last rank in the pool of Weekly Shounen Jump for months. Psyren was made by Toshiaki Iwashiro who previously worked on Mieru Hito.

Summary: Yoshina Ageha is a high school student who offers to help people with their problems for 10,000 yen. He’ll take care of your stalkers, find your lost animal, whatever you want. One day when he’s heading home, a nearby pay phone rings, and he picks it up. The only thing he hears however is his own voice echoing. After finding a mysterious card with the word ‘Psyren’ printed on it, his life suddenly changes as he is drawn into a crazy new world.

What was so great about Psyren? The time travel aspect was the thing that the most attractive to the story. The story seems so different of what other mainstream manga like Naruto and Bleach had to offer. The world 10 years later being a land of dust and desert, and so the main characters must find a way to change the future while surviving the danger of what the monsters in Psyren bring. The art is well drawn and fits very well for a shounen demographic. The important characters are likeable (except Amamiya who was made to have inconsistent personality lol) as well the antagonists too. I mainly enjoyed reading Psyren as an alternative to the illusionary “Big 3”.

What went wrong? I know I said the characters were likeable but in a way, they all seem to be from a certain show. Yoshina is a cross product of Ichigo Kurosaki and Yusuke Urameshi (The looks of Yusuke, the black-coloured power and transformation of Ichigo). Grana is the new Kenpachi (Eye-patch and crazy strong power). Junas is Ulquiorra. Kyle is Jinta. Mashiro is Yoruichi. I know people will say I shouldn’t say Psyren is a rip-off since not a lot of series has actual originality. However, when you read Toshiaki Iwashiro’s previous manga, Mieru Hito, you can’t ignore the fact that this mangaka made a career out of over-using Bleach. While the characters-look-alike issue is bearable, the story went downhill when the main characters started gaining power strong enough to fight the bad-guys, the W.I.S.E., leaving the survival aspect aside and starting to bring more plot holes. “Why is there no new drifters in Psyren?” and “what happened to that guy?” those are questions that appears to make me confirm Psyren, compared to other manga, is weak when it comes to connecting ideas and situations between arcs. These little issues combined together became the downfall of the series. The Weekly Shounen Jump magazine has 20 manga slot every week. About half of them are action manga; Survival isn’t possible if the series in question isn’t able to stand out from the bunch.
