Deadman Wonderland ep 2: A sadistic review

I’m going to talk about the second episode of Deadman Wonderland, or at the very least the second half of the episode. The Gore The Merrier. 🙂

Warning 1: You’ll learn how much I don’t care about the survival of humanity.

Warning 2: Don’t go calling 911 on me.

Warning 3: No, I do not need psychological care.

Did I ever say that I enjoy watching sadistic stuff as long they’re not spooky or monster horror movies. Deadman Wonderland just fits right into my taste. If the main focuses of episode one was conspiracy and corruption, then, the big theme of episode 2 is sadism. Is it really fun to watch criminals die during a race that involves running through balancing scythes, arrows and bullets shot by mascots, trap holes containing spikes, electric currents or poisonous gas? I, as a watcher, loved it. Deadman Wonderland tries to show the animalistic nature of our so-called “civilized” race. Are humans really inside their soul sadistic? I know I am a little bit sadistic (lol). We, human beings, are just animals with a bigger complexity in our physiology and psychology due to the evolution (from the first Homo-sapiens to the beings we are today). We become born into this world. We eat and sleep. When our time comes, we die. Our race is bound to be extinct one day or another whether you believe it or not.

Take a picture of the killed

LOL: This is obviously a place to take your girlfriend to a date

Let’s get to our main protagonist, Ganta Igarashi, who starts to learn the rules of the dynamically sadistic prison, Deadman Wonderland. He learns that all inmates on the death-sentence are constantly administered through their collar a special poison and thus must eat an antidote candy every 3 days in order to leave. You get everything, such as antidote candies, food, clothes and even prison time off, through “Cast points”. One candy cost 100,000 cast points. God knows how hard it is for the poor kid to acquire that much in less than 3 days. So Ganta must win a special race event to get its 100,000 cast point prize. Poor Ganta befriends Yoh Takami, the dude that got slashed by the great and lovely Chief Guard Makina-sama. It turns out that Yoh is a spy for the warden Tamaki to check out the poor innocent super-powered kid. Hell, Tamaki makes the race at the hardest difficulty level. So, the race is filled with murderous obstacles and traps. For me, it was an amazing comedy race. For others, it would nasty scene containing sick deaths. Yes, I have probably have a sick sense of humour, but you could see the manga author was just trying to make the story so hilarious. The whole thing was made to look silly and dark at the same time. Shiro made the race so funny as she evades the obstacle so easily with a nice smile and she saves Ganta many times while other just falls into their deaths. The crowd was laughing and cheering for the deaths. Mascots are shooting the prisoners with bows and hunting guns. Again, we go back to referring to humans being animals. It’s not abnormal to hunt animals or to display them on a zoo. When silliness mixes with darkness, the end-result becomes something spectacularly amazing as long you separate yourself from the normality of this world. Dang, I miss Kyubey from Madoka Magica already.

LOL Damn

Amazingly Silly

Someone with a common sense

Your death won't be for nothing. It'll be for the fun of the crowd

Is Ganta a good character? I guess he fits the setting of the show. I’ve been adding the word “poor” when i mention Ganta. But, still, at the very least, he’s not a total wimp. He tries to survive while following his own rule in order to prove his innocence. Finally, someone who has a valid reason to fight. I think the most generic and annoying reason to fight for a shounen protagonist is: “I must do the greater good for everyone.” aka the sense of duty. Shounen manga has abusively used Kantian Ethics far too much (lol) to the point that the whole thing becomes unrealistic. On episode 2, Ganta actually acts under common sense! He did whatever to survive: suck up to his own bully and not saving a stranger. At the very least, he’s not an annoying character.

Oh Shit

LOLtastic

From what we’ve seen on the anime, it becomes quite obvious that Shiro is not human (lol). An albino girl who can jump from a big tower and land perfectly with a smile is not human. Beside that, what can we say about her? She’s nuts (lol). It’s as if she doesn’t even notice she’s in a prison. Kana Hanazawa does a good job voicing Shiro with her childish personality.

Deadman Wonder episode 2 (during the 2nd half) was an amazing spectacle to watch. This episode scores a nice 9/10. The show is really addicting. So far, the anime has been faithful to the manga except that the anime didn’t bother to introduce Azami which means that Manglobe doesn’t really expect to make a second season.

Anime Spring Season Impression part 6 (final)

This is the last season first ep impression I’ll do. I’ll try to pick to 2 anime from the entire season for the usual episode reviews. Deadman Wonderland might end up being one of my choices.

Deadman Wonderland

In term of action anime, there is no doubt that this show is the best one you’ll find in this season. You might recognize the similarity of Deadman Wonderland to Eureka 7 as it is from the same manga artist. You have Ganta Higarashi, boy wrongly convicted for murdering his entire classmate, and Shiro, weirdo and childish girl who seems to know Ganta leading to another anime cliché that is the forgotten childhood friendship. A person in red clothes floating in the sky killed Ganta’s every classmates using his blood to destroy them. That person turns some of his blood into a gem and inserts it into Ganta’s chest leaving him alive. Reason why to like this anime: People actually die!! The story is pretty dark, going from the murder of an entire classroom to angry parents beating the shit out of Ganta to the usage of a prison as a zoo attraction. Interestingly, Ganta displays some supernatural powers of his own at the end of the episode. He ends unconsciously up using his own blood as a weapon. I would like to able to use that power (lol). I kinda laugh at the poor dude’s shitty situation where he’s being framed by Takami his own lawyer who happened to be the director of the prison. It’s funny how no one had any suspicions on that one. There’s a great deal of conspiration around Tamaki for sure. Considering the anime industry, lately, has had a ton of epic fails when it comes to adapting shounen manga series into anime, I would say that Deadman Wonderland is very well done. The animation is great even though I would like to see less censorship when the show is showing decapitated body parts (lol). As a reader of the manga, I can say this: It gets better! 9.5/10

PS: Try to find Tamaki’s childhood in the ending song. HAHAHA

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai

A ghost of a deceased girl called Memma is hunting her friend who turned into a hikikomori after her death…ROFL! Jintan, the young hikikomori, seems to be unable, unlike his other friends, to move on in his life. So, Memma wants him to reunite their friends to help realize their wishes. It’s quite an amazingly sad story added with some comedy that involves awkward situations as no one but Jintan can see the girl. Jintan realises his wish is to apoligize to Memma. Memma can still touch things and people, so we know that it’s not imaginary from the poor hikikomori. It’s amazing how his dad doesn’t seem to try making him go out. Don’t expect refreshing characters out of this show. Memma has that amazingly annoying voice. There is this one girl, Anjou, who just fit the tsundere characteristic as she tries to help Jintan (she obviously likes him) but because she acts like a tsundere, Jintan takes her aid as a negatively thing since she’s unable to be “dere”. Awkward friendship…HAHA Awkwardness isn’t the type of comedy I find great but the writing is pretty solid enough to overlook that. It’s a nice charming and touching anime involving the re-built of life and friendship. If you need something to replace Kimi ni Todoke, it’s an anime for you. 8/10

Hyouge Mono

Here is another anime set in the sengoku era. Unlike Sengoku Otome, the show is not bad, but it’s not good. TOTALLY MEDIOCRE! How interesting can it really be to have a messenger of Oda Nobunaga and tea master as your main character. The whole comedy is focused on Furuda Sasuke’s obsession with rare artefacts and fashion mockery. I wanted to go to sleep as the jokes in this show is nearly unfunny. 5/10 but hey, the main character’s moustache gets a 8/10.

Ao no Exorcist

Ao no Exorcist is the story of Okimura Rin and his twin brother, Yukio. Rin, a problem child, lives in the church and tries to prove he can mature as he gets several jobs but fails to keep them all. As he starts seeing demons, Rin discovers that he is the son of Satan! That’s pretty much it for the episode (lol). The entire episode practically just covered half of the first chapter and I don’t expect the 2nd ep to go beyond the end of Chapter 1. I’m not sure if the anime going for 24 episodes. I’d like to point the fact that Yukio is poorly animated. He looks like fat-ass for a character considered to be an athletic guy. The animation is so-so. It’s a style that would fit a 90 min movie but not sure how it do for a tv series. I’ll give this episode a 7/10 because the lack of important content, but the manga would get an 8.5/10 just to tell you how good it could.

Anime impression on Spring 2011 (part 4)

I’ve been murdered with school assignments and exams lately. In addition, it’s NHL PLAYOFF season!!! Go Habs Go!!

BTW, I’m still waiting for a show with a style similar to Legend of the Legendary Heroes or To Aru Majutsu no Index. Still nothing yet…

Softenni, “Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san”, Astarotte no Omacha!, The World God Only Knows Season 2 and Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal

Softenni

How can I describe this show? Softenni is a) about the soft tennis club in a certain middle of nowhere school and b) a fail attempt to copy K-ON! Well damn, there’s other varieties of tennis? Among the club members are bunch of weird girls. The only one sane in the club is the coach who happens to be a lazy dude. The comedy in very generic and repetitive. Sex delusions have used at least 3-4 times already from a pink haired girl. There was one obligatory Prince of Tennis reference. Oh did I mention the studio that animates this is Xebec? Xebec seems to have a gotten to a bad streak with anime lately, especially with Rio Rainbow Gate. I understand why this show didn’t have much hype at all, the stuff is so bad!! 4/10

Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san

From the director that directed Shinryaku! Ika Musume and XXXHolic, Yondemasuyo, Azazel-san is a surprisingly hilarious comedy anime about a megane-girl, Sakuma, working for a demon detective called Akutabe. The latter invokes a demon that will do the whole work for him. That demon is titular character, Azazel. Note that the title of this show seems to spoof Sazae-san (lol). The show itself is a combination of Beelzebub and the manga Defense Devil. I think this anime is what Beelzebub could have been if the show had some good or at least decent directing. Akutabe has a certain similarity with Oga. Yes, he’s more demonic than a demon. I really like Azazel as a character too. Masaya Onosaka is just awesome at voicing comedy characters. The way how Azazel acts is pretty funny and perverted. I liked the moment when Akutabe made her take a contract with Azazel. “Sexual harassment for the rest of her life” 🙂 If anything, this show made the biggest impact this season with the first episode. Do not be fooled by the style: It’s not for kids! lol Surprise of the season: 9/10

Astarotte no Omacha!

God knows how many loli tsundere girls Rie Kugimiya (Taiga, Shana, has voice acted in her career. Seriously, it’s been done so many times that her voice and her loli characters have become a true annoyance to my ear. The story is situated in a succubi kingdom and the princess has turned 10 years old and so to preserve her long and youthful life, she needs to extract the life-seed of men that is semen. Any men will do…Vampires, Humans or basically anything that has a dick. So the princess Astarotte hates men. In order to avoid to suck semen of a men’s dick, she declares that she will only have, in her harem, a human, specie that hasn’t been seen in the succubi world. I’m still waiting for the day where we have a succubi that’s actually slutty. Even if you’re to forget how bad the plot seems to be, the show is heavenly boring. The girl being afraid of men seems to be the only jokeline. There was nothing that could be funny. Beside the segment where the female characters are speaking about sucking dicks (in a subtle manner), the show seems to try attracting an audience that consists of lolicons that do not seem to have anything better to do in life like watching better Lolita anime (lol). Yes, even Kodomo no Jikan looks more interesting than this crap. The shows goes into the shit list along with Dog Days and Sengoku Otome. 2.5/10

The World God Only Knows Season 2

The God of Conquest is back along with his ever awesome PFP…and his demon partner Elsie. The pokemon parody used to try recapping season 1 was funny. Season 2 quickly starts with a new girl to conquer: Kusunoki Kasuga. The girl basically is conflicted between a feminine girl or that strong martial artist that she must become. So, whenever she comes by on something cute, another her in form of a spirit appears which hints that she finds Keima cute, but she rejects that other self in order to be someone strong. She’s already at the point where she’s already faster than Ichigo Kurosaki (lol). She’s technically an extreme case of Tsundere (lol). It was an okay episode in my opinion. The show is pretty much led by the girl targeted by Keima. If the girl isn’t in your taste, you won’t find that arc really appealing. I’m really just waiting for another girl at this point. 7/10

Another beautiful opening song:

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal

Zexal is the most kiddy yu-gi-oh! series ever since GX. The horrible opening song is proof. It seems that Frieza has taken over the world. The human race has now acquired the scouters (HAHAHA). The main character, Yuma, looks and sounds as if he’s a direct descendent of Yusei. The first duel is just so horrible. Yuma is a total amateur at the game and he needs to be saved by another obligatory duel monster spirit who just looks like Baby from Dragon Ball GT. I doubt even the abridged of this series, whoever will do it, won’t be any good (lol). 3/10

Anime Spring 2011 Impressions part 2

This post is about the following anime: Kaiji Season 2, Sket Dance, Battle Girls: Time Paradox, Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa, Gintama’ and Steins;Gate.

Gintama’

Well, finally, Gintama is BACK!!!! LOL, I really didn’t expect for the 2nd series to start with Chapter 324 instead of Chapter 292!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s a 32 chapter jump! Basically chapter 324 was drawn for the purpose that the manga at the time took a 1 week break and suddenly as a joke, the story suddenly went to a 2 years jump. Gintama’ episode one just used this joke, but less effectively compared to the manga’s version. It simply didn’t work that well. There’s not much of a great joke in making a 2 years time skip rather than 1. However, I guess it was more relevant to use this story arc for the return. This episode was still funny and most importantly entertaining. Seriously, Kyubey growing a dick was truly shock of the episode . SHE GREW A DICK!!!!!!!! More shocking is Gintoki getting the Yamcha look. There hasn’t been a referenced character that was more insulted than Yamacha. In addition, Tama-chan became warti and WTF is a warti?!?! Gintama still remains a good and random anime out there. This is a good reason why you should get the CrunchyRoll premium account…all for Gintama!!!! 8.5/10

P.S. The opening song sucks…

Steins;gate

So we have a crazy, schizophrenic and self-proclaimed mad scientist, Okarin. Yes, let’s call him that since his real name, Okabe Rintarou, is so forgettable (lol). His alias is even worse: Kyōma Hōōin. This show has a very gloomy animation. You can point out the fact the animation isn’t beauty, but you can’t deny it mixes well with Okarin’s paranoia. Remember Satou from Welcome to the NHK? Both are similar as they always refer to a specific evil secret organisation. Seriously, it’s so fun to watch anime series that have an insane main character. In contrast with Chaos;Head, the story is not about chicks with magical weapons. It’s about TIME TRAVEL! Apparently, Okarin’s phone has something to do with the time travel thing. I actually like the direction at which the anime is taking so far. I’m looking forward to the next episode. 8/10

Kaiji Season 2

While I haven’t watched the first season, I can’t say I didn’t enjoy the first episode of season 2. The recap of season 1 was sufficient enough to know for me to know the general idea of this show and its main character. The protagonist, Kaiji, is a poor loser and an addicted loser. Seriously, you’ve got to be nuts to run happily into the loan shark, whom you’re owing 10 billion yen, and to demand more money (lol). Unlike Akagi, Kaiji isn’t someone so smart (hahaha). He is sent into mining work, in order pay off his debt which will take at least 15 years. So, he decides to build up money to pay one day-off in order to gamble money to save himself (hahaha), but his co-workers quickly make him succumb to his temptation to waste his pay-check by buying food and beer. This anime is a certainly great psychological series where you’re just enjoying the torment of the main character. Yes, I’m a sadist. It’s good to see that Madhouse isn’t just doing some stupid marvel anime. *cough* BRING BACK IPPO!*cough*

Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa nai

Surprise! This show actually turned out to be better than I thought! I thought it would just be some lame coffee restaurant harem romance. However, it turned out to be a too gigantic cast anime to even be able to follow (hahaha). I didn’t say it was a great anime, but, none-the-less, I wasn’t bored. Seriously, whoever is fansubbing this anime better be doing a good job, translating the written names on the show which is something I did NOT see! This show is a bit ecchi, but remains censored. This show is technically what anime represents today: Perversion. We have an american little girl who lifts her squirt to show off her perverted panties to an adult. She says that adult wouldn’t be turned on by her little body only to be corrected by a black man telling her that most japanese men are pedophiles. Considering the popularity of MOE in Japan, it was a nice shot (LOL). There is one of the segments on this show where the coffee restaurant manager and 2 regulars are planning a drinking party in order to invite some vulnerable women, to get them drunk and to get laid. I’ve related this one scene to one of the articles I had to read for my Gender and World Views class. This article was about RAPE in context where collegian males are making the women drink till drunk to make advantage of them!! I know this is not going to be rape plot, but it’s “funny” (well not really funny) how in the real world that what those characters are trying to do would be considered a rape attempt in real life. It would seem the story has some supernatural elements. One of the main male leads appears to belong to another world as a sort of Legendary knight that is “supposedly” awesome… Anyway, this show does have some great characters despite the huge cast and most importantly, it was fun! 8/10

Sket Dance

Sket Dance is an anime that starts off by trolling the viewer into thinking that the first introduced character is the main character for a few minute. Don’t bother with his real name: Generic 4-eye kid. The real focus on this show is a “take-all-jobs” group called the Sket-Dan that consists of the charismatic and slack-off leader, Yusuke Fujisaki aka Bossun, the former strongest delinquent demon girl, Hime Onizuka aka Onihime aka Himeko, and the information tracker who speaks his computer software instead of his voice and who seems to keep referencing other anime for absolutely no reason, Kazuyoshi Usui Switch. I’ll repeat it again. This anime is highly similar to Gintama in many ways. A)It’s fucking random (it’s just the start, you’ll see). 2) The Sket-Dan is another odd job group like the Yorozuya. 3)The school student council is like the shinsengumi. However, this anime really starts off well enough because the characters are actually great. You probably won’t feel bored while watching this anime in the long run. The only problems I had with this first episode are how botched the 3 main characters make their appearance and how lame it is to have the power to concentrate after putting a goggle. Besides that, Sket Dance is pretty good. 7.5/10

Sengoku Otome or Battle Girls: Time Paradox

Call 911, my brain just melted. After finding her homeroom teacher, Date, in a shrine opening a time portal, one stupid girl, Hideyoshi, somehow gets involved which results in her getting back in time to the Sengoku era where she is found by a hawt b00by chick version of Oda Nobunaga (lol). I think it’s a little bit insulting to Japan’s history to portray Toyotomi Hideyoshi as a moronic high school student. Notice the title referencing Sengoku Basara. Battle Girls is quite similar to it, with the exception that all characters are females and the writing is even more ridiculous. I’ve pretty much fast forward the entire episode as the stuff was so horrible. Don’t watch it or, else, your brain will go mush. 3/10

What to do when you’re bored? Watch Majisuka Gakuen

If you’re ever bored of anime right now, you can always watch a J-drama. HAHA…My suggestion is Majisuka Gakuen.

Two transfer students, Atsuko Maeda and Onizuka Daruma came at the all-girls school Majisuka Gakuen. In this school violence and fighting are common among the Yankee students. Noisy and trouble maker Daruma made a fuss as soon as she entered the school, win in her first fight but then was beaten easily by another gang shortly after. In contrary to Daruma’s bold-but-powerless attitude, Maeda who is truthfully a strong girl despite of her silent nature found Daruma is beaten by Team Hormon before her. The word “Majisuka?” (means are you serious?) instantly awaken her true nature and made her won the battle against Daruma’s attackers easily, thus made a big fuss at the school and the news even reached the strongest fighting group, Rappapa. Afterwards, Daruma acknowledged Maeda as her boss and as a result the friendship between the two girls began to grow along with their fights with fellow students at their school.

If you like AKB48 and if you like female vs female bloody violence, you’ll come to love this J-drama. Seriously, I just loved the acting of Matsui Rena as the psycho girl, Gekikara, and of Watanabe Mayu as Nezumi. You might find Atsuko Meada’s character a little bit dull and even annoying at times, but she still provides some badass moments.

Infinite Stratos episode 12: The end

Well there is my last IS post. I got to say that I’m going to miss the show very much.

Damn that lucky bastard

Warning: This episode proves the show does not make any sense, but you already knew.

Yet again, we have an episode where there isn’t a whole lot of sense. Honestly, the anime would be much better if it was spanned over 24 episodes instead of 12. Some historical information of this anime just conveniently appear randomly such as the White Knight and the Core Zero Zero. Seriously, a prelude should have been made before airing the actual series. We end up learning that Ichika’s IS Core has the ability to regenerate its master. Superb, but this is the last episode. It just happen to have this ability because it was convenient. Generic “Main Character to the rescue” time!!! Wait, we already have: MORNING RESCUE!!! Everything was really too rushed. For convenience (again), Tabane is the one who is the cause of everything in this show, from leading Ichika to an IS to making the Gospel go rampage. Great, she’s the new Sousuke Aizen (lol). Just as I planned 🙂

Hmmm, the unconscious Ichika is inside a world (generic moment). Two girls are talking to him. Oh snap, didn’t I see this a 100 times already in other anime series such as The Candidate For Goddess? One girl is a loli talking about some blah blah. The other is a tall chick in a IS armor asking if Ichika wants power. Under normal common sense, the loli girl is probably Ichika’s IS, Byakushiki, and the tall chick is a A.I. data based from the White Knight.

Relaxing in the generic world

Mystery Loli girl (*cough* ByakuShiki)

Do you want power? No, I'll go look for Kyubey for that.

The action sequence was actually excellent, except for the one part where the anime re-uses the same first 2 min of the first episode on this final episode, but it’s not much of a problem because of the entertaining fight. It took 12 ep for Ichika to actually win a mech fight (HAHAHA).

Now let’s talk about harem from this episode. We have Houki starting to get the lead from the rest of Team Harem. Yes, it’s too bad the show ended. Houki asked Ichika if he was aware that she is of the opposite sex. His answer was simply: “I guess.” From that answer, for me, it’s the equivalent of “No, however I just noticed that, so I’m going to say yes to save my own life.” The answer “I guess” is such a weak answer, especially when an unaware character like Ichika didn’t have much of a reaction to the question. However, he does make it up for the attempted kiss which was interrupted by the rest of Team Harem. Seriously ending the show with a bunch of girls wanting to kill the main character isn’t funny anymore.

Wrong!!!

Speaking of Wrong:

Hehe

Wished Ichika had died in the last ep. Too bad we don't get what we wish for.

This episode gets a 8/10 for the action, a 3/10 for the originality, a 3/10 for the story (Since the storyline was never really good, it’s kinda a useless score haha. Oh Guilt Pleasure!), a 2/10 for the ending. P.S.: The Gospel’s power level is OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!

Infinite Stratos ep 11: Review/ranting

WOW, I haven’t done an IS post in a while. Warning: I have no warning that could warn you from something deserving of a warning today…Oh wait, I do have a warning. I’m on a foul mood today and so this post is going to be 95% rant (lol).

Wait, it got nothing to with IS…Anyway moving on…

Reaction: Crap, the show has added transformation sequences! This is a bit late, don’t you think?

Go Pink Ranger!!

Focus on the center

Keep focusing on the center

Well he doesn't get a complete sequence hahaha

Ok, we have everyone thinking Houki will screw up the mission because she’s getting excited for having a new IS. Then an illegal fishing boat comes in forcing Ichika to save them and thus resulting in Houki demanding the moron to leave “those criminals” alone. Then the eternal moronic idealist brings his speech about Houki’s cold behavior towards those illegals which leads to Ichika being shut down. YES!!! HE GOT SHUT DOWN!!!!!! Best thing that ever happened on this show!!! Seriously, what is wrong with Houki exerting violence. One should always be true to oneself. I’m sure Saeko (High School of the Dead) can say the same. It’s a wrong direction to have Houki decide another way and belief to fight, especially since we haven’t seen her fight that often!!!!! Yes, talk about rushed. If you’re going to make her change her mindset, at least give her character development. The way how the show built her character is extremly poor. How is “being violent” is a good cause for being depressed? We do not have enough background story to understand her uneasyness. Sadly, she’s just uneasy with herself because it’s convenient for the show.

Not the Hair Band!!!!!!

Not hot

BITCH SLAP!!

One of the things that really bothered me is that Ichika showed his generic annoying idealist yet again (the other time was when he fought the the valkyria system). The character that Ichika reminds me the most has to be Emiya Shiro aka the dude with the least unrealistic ideals (especially in the Unlimited Blade Works movie). What’s the point of heroic ideals if it puts your allies in danger? Let’s just save some illegal fisherman in the sea instead of destroying a super-dangerous robot going on rampage. Notice that boat wouldn’t be shot if Ichika went for the kill on the machine. One of the characteristics of those kind of idealists is that they believe their actions bring good even if they were to be shown the contrary.

Yup, Ichika is a moron

He's wrong!!!!

Crap, she's crying

Plus can anyone tell me why are they relying solely on the first year students to battle that machine? What’s the point of the teacher again? Oh right, surround an area. Oh wait an illegal boat trespassed. They’re utterly useless! In addition, as (and especially as) the show is most likely to come to an end, it seems that the 2nd and 3rd year students don’t even have any personal IS. It’s quite an amazing school (sarcasm).

Truly good

The positive part of this episode (besides Ichika being shut down) has to be the action sequence, though it was really nothing special. Moreover, the comedy is not existant at all. I guess it’s supposed to focus on Houki’s horrible sad face and depression for SEVERAL minutes which did nothing but make me fast forward this episode. IS without any kind of comedy is the equivalent of a serious Eddy Murphy movie (which doesn’t exist), not that I’m comparing the comedy in IS with Eddy Murphy. Score: a generous 4/10.
