PirateBox – New Spin on File Sharing

As a advocate of Open-source software, finding new ways of combining software and hardware into something that’s practical and have positive impact on user’s daily lives is rewarding plus challenging to me

PirateBox is a self-contained way of file sharing that can be used in a open way and, also, allows the sharers to remain anonymous to anyone using the setup

I can see this concept working well in a lot of scenarios such as classrooms, political meetings etc. and, since you’re actually using Linux software on PirateBox, you can do adjustments for security or what files permissions are available to users

I would like to try this out on a older laptop and skip the purchasing of the actual components in the original setup
